Food was great, but the young guy behind the bar needs a course in customer service, although we had a table booked we elected to sit outside as the weather was lovely. He wouldn’t open a tab even though I offered him to retain the card. And older server came on shift who was great in a customer facing role. We are local and have used the pub many times, yes we are aware that the circumstances are different but surely it’s still about service and customer satisfaction and repeat business as it’s a long winter without the tourists. Look after your locals “!

Our second visit and a great evening. Pleasant and cheerful staff, great food, the homemade tartare sauce was excellent! Felt very safe. Parking a little tricky.

We were very disappointed by our table. It was cramped, too low and the pew seat way too small for 2 adults. The staff must have agreed because they very kindly offered to move us to another table, but not because we had complained. We found the food rather underwhelming, nothing particularly to complain about. The starter portions were quite small and not good value for money. I would have appreciated some bread with my trout. The batter on the haddock was rather overcooked and very greasy. Overall, not great, pretty average, and for the price not good value for money. The staff, however, were very efficient, friendly and helpful. We've been a few times now and each time we hope it's going to be better, but it hasn't so far. We own a restaurant ourselves and know what it's like to receive reviews, good and bad, so I have tried to be as fair and as balanced as I can. We don't mind paying a lot of money when we eat out but we do expect it to be worth it, and sadly yours isn't.

Good food and service as usual. All dishes were good, the highlights were the baked cod and romesco main, along with the salted caramel tart with lime and banana ice cream desert. No issues with the Covid restrictions. Will be back again
