Full of character, The Shireburn Arms Hurst Green is a 17th-century inn amidst the beautiful Lancashire countryside. Rustic and cosy inside, the large garden offers stunning views.
From soups and sandwiches to hearty pub favourites, The Shireburn Arms menu offers something for everyone. Try the homemade burger with bacon, melted Lancashire cheese, onion rings and chips, or the impressive seafood platter with mini fish and chips, steamed mussels, prawns, roll mops and smoked salmon. Steeped in local tradition, the likes of Lancashire hotpot with pickled red cabbage, and Cumberland sausage with onion gravy are firm favourites.
Rustic wooden furniture and oak fires are joined by floor-to-ceiling bookcases to create a charming, homely pub atmosphere. The Shireburn Arms near Clitheroe also boasts a spacious terrace for warmer days.

We love the shireburn arms and have done ever since we got married there in 2014, last night was lacking something. Food and service were just ok, nothing special or memorable, the menu also lacks creativity. The pub was very quiet, staff were disctracted by a table which contained their friends, we waited ages for someone to take our order, no offer of a 2nd drink, water for the table forgotten by our server, only 1 coffee brought out when we ordered 2. Will we be back? After last night, probably not, other pubs and restaurants in the area have upped their game and I felt last night the shireburn had fell behind.

The Shireburn is a great Sunday lunch venue and we visit several times a year.

It was lovely, the food was amazing, I had beef and mushroom pie, very tasty, my husband had roast beef, very tasty aswell. Then we had dessert, pavlova which was lovely and my husband had crumble, lovely and heartwarming food! Very attentive staff, the price was good aswell. We will definitely be going again.
