Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech
Hever Road Bough Beach, Edenbridge, South East England, TN8 7NU Brits

Omschrijving
An age-old watering hole dating back to the 14th century, The Wheatsheaf in Bough Beech is a beautiful countryside retreat benefitting from both Georgian and Tudor architecture. Maintaining its traditional charm, the dining space is complete with exposed brickwork, comfortable sofas perched next to crackling open fires and solid oak floorboards; the exposed-beam bar undeniably the focal point.
A classically-British menu serves up delights such as slow cooked pork belly with butternut puree and black pudding, and marinated rump of Kentish lamb with purple potatoes and local baby vegetables. Seasonal and locally-sourced produce features heavily on the Wheatsheaf menu, with a selection of cheeses coming from all over the UK, such as Stawley from Somerset, St James’ from Cumbria and Appleby’s Cheshire from Shropshire.
An al fresco dining area and gardens makes it the perfect venue for soaking up the Tunbridge Wells sunshine with a pint of locally-brewed ale from the nearby Westerham Brewery.
A contemporary country pub in classic surroundings, The Wheatsheaf in Kent sits 5 minutes’ drive from Bough Beech train station.

Pub was surprisingly very quiet for a Thursday night. The food was fine but rib eye steak was disappointing and the guinea fowl was undercooked.

Its a lovely traditional pub, very nice food (we had the roast dinner) and staff were really attentive. Disadvantage is that the bill had drinks errors on - this is the second time it has happened. Thus, always check the bill before paying!

The food is excellent and my children love the children’s menu. The menu is not big but great for a Sunday lunch!

The food was lovely but not enough of it and some more veg would have been nice. The restaurant was not busy so there wasnt much atmosphere. Staff were pleasant but lacked motivation. I would come again but not straight away.

Very nice experience, staff were excellent. The orange pannacotta was superb. Only criticism would be the Asian noodle supersalad - very difficult to eat, not very tasty - noodles a bit rubbery.

Friendly and efficient service, good menus choices, very tasty food and good wine selection. Noisy babies/toddlers a distraction for part of the meal until they left.

Rather disappointed. Surroundings and staff were excellent but food was poor in both quality and quantity. Risotto was like tasteless porridge, lentil soup was watery and bread was only sliced loaf. Starter of 4very small fish cake balls was inadequate. Tea and coffee was served about 10 minutes before the deserts. In view of he cost we felt far from satisfied. We used to use the Wheatsheaf regularly but have not been for some time - it has changed for the worse.
