A modern British restaurant, Church Road is on the site of old neighbourhood gem, Sonny’s Kitchen. The kitchen brigade is headed by Sam Astley-Dean while Alan Parry leads the front of house team. Sam was most recently Sous Chef at Elystan Street, where Alan was Assistant General Manager. The glamorous bar at the front of the restaurant, decorated with mirrors and a marble top bar, plays host to pre and post cinema goers, as well as lunch and dinner drinkers.
The Church Road menu includes sweetcorn and clam chowder with a clam and chorizo crumpet, or wilted late summer greens with a cashew cream and a soft herb dressing for starters. Amongst the mains are roast new season’s grouse with roasted pear, elderberries, Hasselback potatoes and gravy, or char grilled monkfish tail with roasted late summer tomatoes and pesto.
The desserts selection at Church Road features Port roasted figs with baklava and fig leaf ice cream or plum and almond tart. At the bar enjoy an array of cocktails made with seasonal nectars and syrups and a delicious sharing menu which changes regularly.
Relaxed and sleek, Church Road in London's Barnes is an 11-minute walk from Barnes Bridge Rail Station.

Wonderful service and great food - Full dining room with a buzzy atmosphere. We sat in the bar waiting for our table - as we were early- and that was fun .

Sadly it was not a good experience, albeit we have been before but it was under a different name. We arrived at 14.30 and got served our mains at 16.30. They did not have a children’s menus which was fine but as we ordered from the main menu but it took 1hr to arrive even tho we ordered as soon as we were seated. The roast diner was very good but the gentlemen went home hungry as there were only 2 very thin slices of beef. We then ordered our daughter ice cream asked for it to be brought right away again after 30 minutes her grandfather got very upset and asked why is it taking so long to bring out ice cream. The waitress was extremely apologetic, she was very professional and polite and it took less than a minute for her to get it out. (she was wearing a brown beige uniform) Sadly we will not be returning as the service does not reflect the price.

Beautiful decor - really amazing food . I had a wonderful pork chop with sweet and sour sauce but envied the monkfish tail with pesto and tomatoes . The figs looked fab but I resisted . Next time I won’t ! A special place for a meal out .
