Set in one of London’s most bustling spots, Lord Aberconway is a traditional pub with a mezzanine, serving classic British food in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Rebuilt in the 19th century, the pub is named after the chairman of the old Metropolitan Railway and sits close to the Monument to the Great Fire of London.
Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Lord Aberconway menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.
The Lord Aberconway bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.
Lord Aberconway in Liverpool Street is right by Liverpool Street Tube and Rail stations.

Great London pub. Friendly, helpful staff who appear to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Quirky layout and great tables upstairs where you can sit and watch bustling Broad St. The menu is fairly basic, specialising in a range of sausages, which 3 of us had. The sausage and mash was fine. Unfortunately crab, smoked salmon and another fish dish were off the menu and we weren't informed of this until after we had decided. The steak sandwich was somewhat chewy. Unfortunately the card paying system went down, so we were unable to pay by card, which caused a problem for 2 of us. Having said all this, I still love this pub. One of my favourite around Liverpool St.

Very friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices and the home cooked potato crisps were delicious and a great touch.

We visited early evening in August so quieter than usual, but mezz seating area was spacious with great view of cavernous victoriana bar area. The bar staff were attentive and helpful and the food unpretentiously tasty. Very good selection of beers and a good house pinot.

Booked table for 6.30 for 2.. Arrived in time ordered 2 different dishes and both were finish (mixed grill and gammon steak), then opted for two steaks but they only had one left. The latter was fine for my companion but I opted for the steak pie that came with mash and veg, j asked for just chips which was facilitated with about 15 chips and the pie had 3 pieces of steak and was half full.. In summary disappointing meal but atmosphere and drinks was good, apart from them not having my chosen tipple of Drambuie
