Set in London’s East End, a stone’s throw away from Whitechapel, Spitalfields Market & Liverpool Street, Woodins Shades serves a variety of delicious British dishes in a traditional pub setting. A friendly local through and through, this pub has been a favourite meeting place for traders of the nearby Petticoat Lane for many years.
Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Woodins Shades menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.
The Woodins Shades bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.
Woodins Shades in Bishopsgate is just a 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street Tube and Rail stations.

Overall good experience, with pleasant staff and good quality food. Used the restaurant for a Burns Night set menu which was very good value for money.

Good range of well prepared pub staples served by really friendly staff in a spacious dining room above the pub, that also has it's own bar. Small but decent wine list too - not overpriced. Worth a visit.
