From award-winning chef Mark Greenaway, Grazing offers a menu which reflects the laidback ‘grazing’ concept in a casual and welcoming environment. Always incorporating locally sourced ingredients, the menu showcases a mix of traditional and modern dishes, sharing plates and unique concept dishes created by Mark.

Chef Mark Greenaway is an ambassador for Scotland Food and Drink. His commitment and drive place him in the very top tier of Scottish chefs. Mark’s first cookbook, ‘Perceptions’, received the ‘Best in the World’ award at The Gourmand Cookbook Awards in 2017.

    It was lovely to be back at Grazing by Mark Greenaway and we particularly appreciated the complementary glass of champagne. We both opted for the meat lunch box and there were no regrets. The Portuguese wine we chose complemented it all perfectly. The carrot veloute was the only thing I was a bit anxious about but it was delicious. We only managed 3 courses but that was ample for lunch (so ample that we didn't need any more food for the rest of the day!). The staff were great; efficient and pleasant. The location is great and the ambience of the restaurant is lovely. We will return!

    We both had the whole plaice on the bone. Superb. The portions of sides are not huge. On our second visit we will order a wider selection.

    Fabulous! Fantastic! Delicious! Enjoyed every dish. We had small plates and some extras and it was an absolute joy to eat there!

    I have been a Mark Greenaway fan for years and going to his last restaurant any December we were in Edinburgh visiting family so was excited to try Grazing. However it lacked the soul and good food his previous restaurant had. Our haggis arrived cold, the crackling on the pork had little crunch, the “slider” was a regular sized burger, we weren’t asked how we would like the burger cooked so arrived well done. I found myself trying to defend my choice of restaurant but my table were not convinced. It was no where near the experience I was expecting and even as a hotel restaurant it was sadly average.

    The staff were excellent but I don’t think the food was all that great and very overpriced for what we had. I had to send my main course back as it was tepid as opposed to even warm The place lacked atmosphere for a Christmas Day event with very few decorations around the restaurant and we noticed that several other diners had complaints along the way.

    I booked a reservation over a month ago for what I thought was the Christmas Dinner tasting menu. After placing the reservation I was contacted by the restaurant asking for deposit (which I paid) and if anyone had food allergies (I supplied that one had gluten allergies). The reservation was confirmed. She told me I would receive a copy of the menu prior as it was still being planned. (I never got a copy.) I was told my deposit would be deducted from my final bill at dinner. It was not. When I arrived for my reservation I was again asked about allergies (they did not have a record I had already given this information.) We were seated in a room right by the pass window with low dark ceilings in a booth and handed an a la carte menu. I asked about the tasting menu for Christmas and was told that was only for lunch and they simply had a limited menu for dinner which was only a few dishes from their regular menu. There were no apologies for not communicating that prior when I made the reservation. The manager simply said that was the menu they had. They had their full regular menu posted so I inquired about just getting fish and chips since nothing on the menu really interested me but that. But I was told that wasn't an option. Again no apologies. They obviously are able to make it since it is on their regular menu. The waiter we had was well meaning but clearly wasn't adept with service yet. We ordered a glass of wine which didn't come and when we asked for it again, he left to get it and then had to come back and ask what we ordered again. He too had to ask about food allergies. Does no one communicate with each other? The food was OK. Certainly not a special Christmas dinner. I felt like I was eating in an expensive diner. Also, why did I have to make a deposit for an abbreviated regular menu? A deposit I never received back? Very disappointing experience. Would probably not eat here again.

    Festive Grazing menu for lunch - lovely choices and excellent food, as always. Tempura soft shell crab was 'best thing I've eaten all year'.

    Having recently had our office Christmas lunch at Grazing where I had been impressed at the food and the pleasant and efficient service I thought I would come again with my husband for a quieter lunch. I ate al la carte and my husband had the Christmas menu. He had the crab and turkey (my recommendation from my earlier lunch) and thoroughly enjoyed it whilst I had the Waldorf salad and short rib. The latter was very tasty. I thought the service and attention we got were excellent.
