Café Rouge Norwich Chapelfieldevokes the bohemian charm and rich flavours of traditional French dining. From plush leather booths in the dining room, guests can look out through the towering glass façade, or enjoy outdoor dining during summer.
As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.
In true French style, breakfast is an important meal at Café Rouge in Norwich. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

We were disappointed with our afternoon tea. We had to ask for our tea and jam and spoons to eat the mousse with. The cakes were dry and not very appetising. The overall experience was less than expected.

The young lady waiting on us was very sweet. Restaurant was about half full but service slow. Took half hour before we got starters. My main was tasty steak frites and fries. Husbands chicken dish was luke warm. We would have sent it back but we're heading to cinema and would have been late for show. We did tell waitress and she said she would inform the chef. An ok meal really. Think they need more staff.

Food, service and ambience great, with the exception of the background music choice. It did not reflect the atmosphere that the surroundings appeared to be trying to imply. everything else was great

Very disappointing. On arrival, despite there being only a few tables occupied, we had to wait for our "introductory" snacks. Service in general was patchy. Much of the food seemed to have been prepared and kept hot for some while, as most of it was dried out. King prawns to start were ok, but the difficulty in getting them out of their shells suggested they'd been sitting around for some time. My guest's steak was acceptable, but my turkey was very dry, with no more than a tablespooonful of weak gravy The worst was the brussel sprouts which I love, but these were actually bitter and almost inedible. I was sorry there was no Christmas pudding on the menu, but had high hopes of the tarte citron, which were not met, as it just seemed stale. While the meal was not exorbitant it was not worth the money. The low alcohol craft beer was excellent
