The Maze restaurant at Doubletree by Hilton, Dundee

We booked the Maze Restaurant for an anniversary meal. The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night but the bar meal area was busy. We moved tables because we were cold sitting next to the window. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. The food was delicious, hot and very well presented also prices were similar to this calibre of dining. If l had to be picky there was not a big choice on the menu but overall a very pleasant experience.

Excellent restaurant from beginning to end. Rose helped with booking, was an excellent hostess throughout the nite. Food was brilliant whilst chef made sure we definitely went home feeling very satisfied. Strongest recommendation from our party of four:

Food wasn’t all that great we had haddock croquettes for starter it had no flavour to it I had chicken stuffed with haggis was ok but veg was very hard My husband had steak pie and meat was quite chewy so we decided not to have a sweet The staff we very friendly and well mannered

Food was very tasty and well presented. The staff were all very friendly and provided attentive service. Slightly disappointed that the full menu was not available as there was a valentine menu on that weekend, was looking forward to steak which was no longer available.

The dining area is good - comfortable, modern, inviting. The menu is clear and whole £ costs for dishes should make life easy for all. The food is good, tasty and well presented but the portion of the main course in particular was very small. My main course (the beef dish) was not as described by the waiter. I was shown the wrong menu for dessert (the menu for DBB but that was easily rectified. When I asked for the bill I was given a note to sign for the drinks as if we had been in for DBB. That was also easily changed but someone else could have made up a room number, signed and tried to walk out before the error was discovered!!!!! I would still recommend the restaurant but would give the caveats, esp portion size for the price charged.

The worst meal I have had this year. My steak in a red wine sauce was as dry as the Sahara desert. My wife's pate was uneadable. Obviously the chef does not taste his food or maybe just can't cook.
