The Green Room in London serves ethically sourced British food in a contemporary and theatrical space. In collaboration with local social enterprise Coin Street Community Builders, the National Theatre presents an innovative restaurant, bar and garden, where all profits support the National Theatre and local communities.
Mixing American diner dishes with British classics, The Green Room menu is packed with mouth-watering meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Meat-lovers can try slow-roasted pork ribs marinated in barbecue sauce, or the signature burger made with prime beef, Monterey Jack cheese, and an onion marmalade. Equally enticing are the hearty grilled calamari with pesto and slow-cooked winter vegetables, and the spicy vegan sloppy Joe with black beans, jalapenos and chipotle.
Inside The Green Room from the National Theatre, props and scenery from the theatre’s shows create a unique dining space. Outside, a sustainable garden creates an urban oasis a stone’s throw from the Thames.
A short stroll from The London Eye, The Green Room South Bank is a 6-minute walk from Waterloo Train Station.

Excellent food. Dined at a time when it wasn't too busy - it does get very crowded and noisy after 6.30pm, but food is great, staff very friendly. I can't rate the drinks as we didn't have anything but tap water.

Friendly staff and welcome, eclectic menu which manages to be interesting but still has that comfort food vibe you need on a cold winter’s night! Cooking speedy but skilled - and hot choc brownie to swoon over!

This is always such a nice place to eat. We had a lovely couple of hours for a late lunch - and its so perfect for that. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is always super good.

The service is friendly, attentive and also give the space to enjoy the evening with your friends. Food was well presented and tasty. The only surprise was a mouse running across the floor!!! Being an inside / outside restaurant it is not totally surprising. Staff reassured they were calling pest control!!!
