Présentation du restaurant

With a stunning terrace overlooking the river, The Old Thameside Inn is an historic London pub inside a former spice warehouse. Cask ales and traditional pub grub feature on the menu, there is exposed brick throughout, and outside is a full-scale replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship The Golden Hind.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Old Thameside Inn menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The Old Thameside Inn bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

Also showing live sport on big screen TVs in the basement, The Old Thameside Inn is a 7-minute walk from London Bridge Tube Station.

Pleasant welcome and atmosphere. Our table was at a window and had a lovely view of the Thames and London in the dark. Service was excellent. Food choice was wide, mainly 'pub favourites', and when it arrived was well cooked and tasty.

We had a reservation here, heard it was a nice place for a meal. The service was very mediocre and slow. The food was just about the same (nothing impressive). The drinks are very basic. Atmosphere was nice but that's about it. Nothing special, good for a sit down dinner I guess.

My experience wasn't as good as on two previous occasions. The customer service wasn't great!

We booked a table so we would have the comfort of knowing we had somewhere to have an evening meal, after a train journey from Brighton back to London. We arrived at the pub on time, and we were eventually seated by a very stressed looking member of the serving staff. We had quite a long wait for the meal but it was of good quality (steaks were cooked as we had asked) and the red wine was very good. The meal was a success, but the staff were extremely fraught, ashen-faced and stressed out, but then again its a busy restaurant and unrelenting in its customer footfall as it is an area of the South Bank that is awash with tourists and so tables are rarely empty for more than a few minutes between customers. The food and wine were good, and despite the staff being extremely tired and fraught, we were served politely overall. A point to note.....with the Gents and Disabled toilets directly facing the restaurant, and these being in constant use, it would improve the overall ambience if the staff closed the doors, when they were more often than not left gaping by absent minded members of the public exiting them, as eating and having wine with the River Thames on one side of our table was fine, but with a view of the toilet bowls and resulting smell after somebody had been in there, on the other, was not the greatest thing...

Great location with river views. Cosy and lively. Food is hearty and value for money.

The atomsphere of the pub was great, the pub was busy and the food was reasonable in value and good to eat
