Beschreibung
A stunning London pub with ornate style and a warm welcome, The Starting Gate was built in 1875, and is just a stone's throw from Alexandra Palace. Filled with dark stained wood, exposed brick and plush leather, there is a sky-lit dining area, and plenty of space up at the bar to sample the international craft beers.
Classic British pub recipes on the Starting Gate menu are given inventive gourmet makeovers, starting off with the black pudding cake topped with a poached egg and crispy bacon. There are also international flavours thrown in too, like the chicken wings in yakiniku BBQ glaze with Asian-style slaw. For mains, there is beer battered fish and chips, southern fried chicken, and vegetarian options like the red pepper and quinoa burger with marmalade-roasted beets. On Sundays, succulent roast dinners are served with rich gravy, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, and fresh vegetables.
Desserts at The Starting Gate in Wood Green include the British cheeseboard, and other classics like warm chocolate brownie with hazelnut ice cream. Up at the bar, craft beers from around the globe are on tap alongside cask ales, as well as international wines and spirits.
A beautiful pub in a Grade II-listed building, The Starting Gate is just a minute's walk from Alexandra Palace Rail Station, and just a stone's throw from Alexandra Park.

Love the ambience of the venue and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Great service and the roast dinners were delicious! The prosecco and elderflower drink didn't taste that nice unfortunately and for £9.95 a glass it should be the best you've tasted in your life! Puddings we're okay and so we're starters but for us we were most shocked by the pricey drinks. Ruined the experience a little as everything else was lovely.
