Three of us enjoyed midweek lunch. The restaurant was not too busy and the staff were very helpful and attentive. There is a good choice of food one of us had the hamburger the others Roquefort salad with caramelised walnuts and fries. Very pleasant restaurant - light? spacious, comfortable seating and pleasant view of the garden .

I'm afraid to say I was very disappointed with the afternoon tea. I have been to quite a few different places ranging from the Ritz in London to Valerie's patisserie and I have to say Hotel du vin, I left feeling hungry and dissatisfied To start with we had 5 mini savourys that we cut in half to share, they were one maybe two mouthfuls each ,we then waited over 30 minutes for them to bring us the scones,a plain one and a fruit one usually we get 2 plain and two fruit scones, after waiting another 40 minutes they brought the desserts, again 3 very small cakes,that we cut in half to share, included in the desserts was a dessert that needs a spoon, we were given nothing to eat it with, as we sat outside, I felt we had been forgotten about, and it wasn't even busy We had to ask for the tea, we were not given choice, the waiter just brought us a pot of tea, he offered to change it as we said we wanted to try a different tea to the "norm"by this time I was feeling quite fed up and really just wanted to go This was meant to be a special treat for my friend who has been so good to me over the last couple of month and it was a thank you to her! On a plus note, when the waiter brought our food he was very polite and did a good job. I'm sorry this comment couldn't have been better
