Beschreibung
Inside a classically elegant Kensington townhouse, La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo presents inventive Italian recipes with thoughtful tweaks by this celebrated Michelin-starred chef. As well as wholesome tastes of the Mediterranean, there are also classic afternoon teas served in The Library.
The La Trattoria menu spans the entire day, kicking off with versatile breakfast options ranging from the classic full English with wild boar and apple sausages, through to Canadian pancakes. Later in the day, the a la carte menu is designed to be shared, with flavourful delicacies like sliced veal in tuna sauce, and pasta and Tuscan bean stew. Generous mains include favourites such as braised beef in red wine, seafood soup with garlic bread crouton, and sides of roasted polenta.
The Pelham is pleased to launch its playfully vibrant fashion-inspired menu in line with the opening of The Victoria & Albert Museum’s latest exhibition: Mary Quant. Available from 15 April 2019, the 60’s Mod experience, designed in partnership with luxury event planners La Fête, draws on the history of the British icon who has been immortalised by fashion iconography as the originator of the miniskirt to present a colourful selection of decadent savouries and luxurious treats, all carefully prepared by the Michelin-starred Chef Alfredo Russo and his team.
An elegant setting to enjoy passionately prepared Italian recipes, La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo is just a minute's walk from South Kensington Tube Station, and a stone's throw from the numerous museums and galleries of the local area.

We’d booked afternoon tea for my wife’s birthday, our teenage daughters in attendance. We’d phoned ahead to clarify confusion over the Library and the Drawing Room and were told we would be in the Drawing Room. On arrival we were lead to a basement room called The Meeting Room “as it is your birthday”. We were stunned into silence and awkwardness. The room was dark, bars at the window, no atmosphere, a bus stop at ground floor level so that every time a bus pulled in, our room became even darker, passers by staring in at us. It was bizarre. We ended up playing some music through our phone to perk things up a bit. It was a really bizarre experience. Food was nice except for the victoria sponge with copious amounts of crystalised butter cream. Atmosphere awful.

The 3 of us had a wonderful Mary Quant afternoon tea. We were the only ones there and were able to stay from 4.30-6pm. The staff were very obliging and helpful. The food was substantial and well thought out.

Lovely experience apart from not being offered the elevator in the entrance and not a very friendly door person, once the outside entrance is open again it will be better I am sure. Booking easy. Nice ambience, lovely servers and great food, we particularly liked the carbonara service, very unique! Wine list could be a little more interesting. Overall we had a good time, service was quick, everything was clean, tidy and quiet which is unusal these days, and for which we were grateful.

Absolutely delightful afternoon tea, served in the drawing room. Mary Quant theme was followed through with a nail varnish bottle containing raspberry coulis, chocolate lipsticks, caramel in s foundation tube. Sandwiches and mini rolls were delicious. It was a bit rich though as we didn’t know a 15% service charge was added to the £40 pp cost. A lovely but one off experience.
