Présentation du restaurant
Offering modern interpretations of classic flavours, WOOD Manchester sees MasterChef winner Simon Wood bring his unique culinary style to his first restaurant opening. Contemporary furnishings and an open kitchen ensure a relaxed setting for modern fine dining.
The WOOD Manchester menu changes with the seasons and includes inventive starters such as pigeon with fig and endive, and scallops with burnt cauliflower. For mains, sample the likes of duck with plum, Sauternes and hazelnut, beef with horseradish, Madeira and truffle, or chicken with chorizo and black olives. The WOOD tasting menu offers a journey through food and flavours, with 5 or 7 courses of Simon’s favourite ingredients of the season.
Desserts are equally rich in flavour, and include peach melba and raspberry pavlova, and a citrus tutti frutti. From the bar comes an impressive wine list, a wide range of whisky, Bourbon and brandy, and classic and signature cocktails.
Offering unintimidating fine dining, find WOOD Manchester a short walk from both Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Road rail stations.

We had a very friendly welcome and this continued through the whole service. The waitress was very knowledgable about the food and explained every dish to us, will definitely go back for the 7 or 10 course tasting menu ??

This meal was to celebrate my 3rd Wedding Anniversary - I had been given a voucher from my parents. The food, atmosphere and service at Wood was absolutely first class. The fish and steak were both booked to perfection. The added touch of our anniversary macaroons and best wishes were the 'icing on the cake' and it made our meal very special. We will certainly be visiting Wood again very soon.

This was our first visit. We ate early (5.30pm from the pre-theatre menu) so restaurant was less than half full but still with a good atmosphere. Our view of the kitchen meant there was always activity. Our server was attentive and helpful and never missed when our water glasses needed filling. Food was excellent quality and quantity. I only wish we had had the chance to try the cocktails, which sounded good.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinning experience with Wood last night. All staff were very polite and helpful. The atmosphere is lovely and quite relaxing. The best part was the food; we had the Tomahawk steak (Tomahawk Tuesda) which was fantastic. Couldnt fault any of our night. Thanks to the wonderful staff at wood.

We had the 5 course tasting menu. It was simple, fresh and lovely. We particularly enjoyed the tomato consome and the fresh salad that followed. The dessert was also excellent. We had lunch, so the restaurant was not particularly busy. We asked for the music to be turned down, as it was rather loud initially. We were served an extremely charming waitress, with excellent knowledge of the food and the accompanying wine. It was excellent value at £45 per head, and we would strongly recommend this to anyone who prefers fresh simple clever food, without the rich French influence.

Third time eating here. Previous two experiences were very good. I thought one of top 3 in Manchester. This time very different. Starter a bit of over cooked fish unimaginitively accompanied, maim was disappointing featherbkade steak. Wine: Gewurtztraminer - excellent; Malbec - v poor; replaced with zip it Noir - v good. Service very attentive.
