We were very disappointed. We booked a table For 3 people expecting to be able to have the 3-course menu. When we arrived we were told they did not take bookings at 1 pm only after 4 pm and were told to go find a table. The tables were low tables and sofas so we were unable to order a meal as we were too low down so we ordered afternoon tea. The tea came 20 minutes before the sandwiches so we had no tea left to drink with the meal. We asked for hot water but it made the one teabag so weak. The bread and scones were nice and fresh but only three finger sandwiches given and a small pitta roll. The staff were not chatty, very formal and not very helpful. The lady on the opposite side of the room ordered cooked food and was kneeling on the floor to eat it as the table was too low and sofa too far away!

Disappointed to say the least. Booked into Carters for 14.00 only to be told it doesn't open until 16.00. Put in Frederick bar which to me was like a lobby bar. Got a bottle of wine and asked for water, had to wait half an hour and ask again. When we had finished our main it must have been 40 mins before anyone took the plates away. Very poor service on the day in question and would think twice before returning.

We enchanter various problems with bookings made but not registered, miner delays in service. Eg 50 mins wait for a drink to get from Frederick bar to the table in Carters. When these issues were brought to the attention of the staff they were dealt with quickly. N a more positive note all the staff were helpful, friendly and polite the are a credit to your hotel. Overall it was a most enjoyable experience.

Unfortunately, we never got to have a dining experience. When we arrived at the venue they had no record of our booking and advised that the restaurant was full. When we kicked up a fuss (others had the same problem) they said they would make up more tables, but we would be looking at a 40 minute wait for the main course. We left.
