Présentation du restaurant
Paying homage to traditional Scottish cuisine, Mac and Wild serves up London’s most traceable meat and seasonal produce straight from the wild Scottish Highlands. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the menu is served in an eclectic setting, where hunting-lodge style artwork hangs over rustic wooden tables and exposed brick walls.
The meat-heavy menu at Mac and Wild City is filled with prized signature dishes, headed by the ‘Veni-Moo’ burger, which boasts awards including London’s best burger. Other favourites include the haggis mac and cheese, venison chateaubriand, and drippy Scotch eggs. There is also an entirely-Scottish whisky selection of over 200 blends.
Mac and Wild Fitzrovia serves a Scottish-themed brunch at the weekend, bringing the finest Scottish produce south of the border. Served every Saturday and Sunday, unlimited prosecco or brunch cocktails can be added for £23. From the bar, beers and ciders are cherry-picked from across Scotland, and there is a selection of playful cocktails, including the Irn Bru-themed Forth Bridge, and the spicy Highland Solstice.

Venison steak was great, burger ok, some dishes were not available.Difficult to judge the ambience as we were the only diners on a wintery January afternoon. The deep fried Mars bar desserts needed a little more Mars bar but interesting! Definitely one for Scottish meat lovers. While we were there there was an unexplained overwhelming smell of paint or solvent which was a bit off putting. We were not offered a drinks menu so stuck with our free glass of champagne.

We didn’t like this restaurant overall. Puddings were the best by far. It’s really annoying that none of the mains come with sides which I think is ridiculous, it’s unlikely anyone is going to want to eat a fillet of fish with no accompaniments whatsoever. They asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, we have both but no one bothered telling us they were 1l bottles which is a bit of a cheeky add on sales pitch. Standard service of 12.5% felt steep after these inadequacies. Starters were nice, haggis tots well received, tattie tots tasted great but are over processed leading to an odd texture. Mains were ok all in all. It’s a nice enough restaurant but you can get a lot better for the same price. Not much in the way of Scottish hospitality.
