Busy when we arrived which is a good. Ordered the sharing lamb fo two. This was delicious.Best lamb I have had in a while. The other people dining with us had the beef. The beef was just ok. All veg and roast potatoes also where good. We order the chessboard. I must say this was disappointing cheese was cold and when asked what the cheese as we where told 1 blue 1soft 1hard. We did ask for them to find out what the cheese was which they do . When we went to pay they had taken £10 off the final bill which was really good.

We were both really disappointed with our meal. They had run out of some dishes we ordered and they didn’t apologise. The food then arrived and it wasn’t great. We both have not been there for a while and remembered it being much better food previously. Won’t be hurrying back.

Good meal and good atmosphere. We used to go to the Sands End regularly but stopped about a year ago as the food stopped being as good. Tried it again this week and the food is back on form again! Will be back again & hopefully it can become our regular haunt again!

food was fantastic. i had chicken and my friend had the steak. both were fabulous. we also had cheesecake and panna cotta (which I usually don't care for much) for dessert and both were delicious. our waitress was lovely as well and our food came quickly but nicely timed.

Very disappointing evening. I go here fairly regularly as I live very locally but I can only assume they have a new chef as there’s a new very limited menu and the standard of food has dropped tremendously. There were no specials and the only mains were a hanger steak, chicken, Dover sole and chickpea stew. Pretty basic. They had run out of lamb. We asked why the menu was so limited and was told that they were focusing on doing a few things really well. Well they failed at that. We had the sole and chicken and they were both lukewarm and not that exciting or well executed. We asked for a portion of chips which they forgot. They then brought the wrong ones so it wasn’t until we finished eating that we received the ‘twice cooked’ chips which had been barely cooked once they were definitely under cooked and tasteless. It was over £100 and I don’t think I’ll be rushing back for a meal. Such a shame as it used to be so good.

The location is good. The bar team are pleasant if a little disorganised. The menu is good. The acoustics are bad. I often find I can hear the next table better the people I am with, so I'm always asking for a quiet table!

Food was great but overall atmosphere was not great. There was live music which was very loud which added with noise of other diners made it impossible to have a conversation or hear anything.
