Hide Above in Piccadilly offers both a set lunch menu and tasting menu, with matching wine flights available. Signature dishes include roast scallops, glazed veal sweetbread and roast Herdwick lamb with smoked cockles. Lovely environment for interesting food. Service great but left feeling a little the meal was below my expectation. In my view Paul Ainsworth and Michael Caines food just as interesting but much more satisfying experience! The experience was one of “sampling” rather than being fed!!

Food is excellent that can not be disputed. Alcohol is punchy; paid £52 for a half bottle of wine. Other Michelin star sites would do similar standard bottle for £75 so this needs addressing. Small glass of vintage English sparkling wine was £39. Ended up £135 per head but had we drank/relaxed how we wished it would’ve been £600 for two. The food though as mentioned is amazing and the staff friendly and a lovely restaurant overall. Tables are too close together that’s the only other slight criticism.

Very disappointed with Hide, very pretentious food trying to be clever, a tasteless crab dish with a weak and over subtle broth, very minute portions and I’m not a big eater. The beef dish consisted off burnt Leeke and a blob of purée Dessert combinations were awful and didn’t workWine list ridiculously overpriced only 2 bottles under £50 Have to say worst Michelin restaurant I’ve been to and I’ve been to over a hundred

It is an awesome atmosphere- highly professional, not pompous and nicely relaxed with exceptional food. The sommelier Davide was excellent and the pace of the meal fantastic. We found the desserts to be the highlight and the main courses set a high bar.
