Anything but a typical hotel restaurant, The Gate is a stylish, atmospheric brasserie with an outdoor terrace.

Chef director John Pollard and his team unite fresh, locally grown produce with wild-caught seafood and farm-assured meats. On the menu you’ll find lobster arancini, house-cured salmon, a sensational seafood burger, an indulgent Bavette and a range of delicious vegetarian and vegan options.

The Gate is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner every day. Relaxed throughout the day, at night the atmosphere shifts and The Gate transforms into a vibrant bar with live music and DJs.

    Terrible service yesterday. Went for lunch and took three hours! Constantly chasing food. Fish and chips undercooked, apple and blackberry pie hardly any blackberries or pie. Very disappointing. We were regular visitors but will not be doing Sunday lunch again.

    Great ambience , excellent service .Food was very disappointing. 3 of us ordered twice baked soufflé and all were still partially frozen . Chick pea curry was small portion and very bland. We didn’t dare risk dessert!

    The ambiance was good and the service too. The food was more disappointing - the food generally wasn’t as hot as it could be, a prawn had definitely turned and the caramelised carrots were more incinerated than caramelised - they shouldn’t have been let out the kitchen. It was a shame as the tempura prawns were good as was the cod and crab dish and the lamb was well cooked. attention to detail was the issue

    All food good however delay of over 5 minutes for serving of chips and salad to go with the veal which was disappointing as first time our son had dined there with us.

    Delicious food - excellent menu. Outdoor patio is fantastic - great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
